Corinne Lightweaver is an artist, writer, and editor, and the author, with Esther Dreifuss-Kattan, PhD, ATR, of In the Breast of Health: Healing from Cancer through Art. Her recent artwork portrays her journey of healing from breast cancer. Before her diagnosis, Lightweaver worked as a painter, with wildlife as her favorite subject. After her diagnosis, she began using collage and assemblage techniques. Lightweaver’s artwork is held in private collections in Chicago, Tucson, and a number of California locales, including Hollywood, Santa Monica, Venice, Brentwood, Los Angeles, Encino, Costa Mesa, Fountain Valley, and San Diego. She has participated in charitable auctions to benefit Premiere Oncology Foundation, UCLArts and Healing, Rivers of the World Mural Restoration Project, Gay and Lesbian Elder Housing, and AIDS Project Los Angeles. In addition to creating art, she has curated several art and photography exhibits, written about the process of artmaking, and edited books and articles on the arts, artists, and art conservation. Since 1996, her artwork has been exhibited at Cal State University Long Beach, Golden West College Fine Arts Gallery, Huntington Beach Art Center, Gallery Galgano, Amor Studio Gallery, Loft Gallery, The Advocate Gallery, and other venues.
